My sound isn't working on my XP computer! Please help!?

So basically, I reformatted an old office computer we had, which is running XP Professional. I went to plug in a set of speakers, and nothing happened, no sound. There is not even a volume icon in the system tray because it is not reading a sound device. I checked the device manager, everything seems to be ok (drivers are ok, no alerts/exclamation points). So the device manager says everything is working properly. I even went into the BIOS and disabled, booted, rebooted, enabled the onboard audio, still nothing. The sound jack is part of the motherboard. When I go to control panel and then sound, it reads it as if there is no sound device. I know the speakers work because I used them in another computer, and I know the driver works because I used the same driver that it was already running prior to reformatting. I would also say it's a bad sound port, but this computer has jacks on the back and front, and neither work. Can anyone help? Thank you!!

How to make my second screen not be blank.?

My second screen is a TV. My monitor won't pick my TV. It is a SAMSUNG sync master. When I am in control panel it only comes up as display on vga. I have already used the HDMI socket in my TV so I can’t connect a dvi socket from my computer to the hdmi socket in my TV. When the TV is on its own it works fine with the computer however when both the TV and monitor are connected at the same time the TV is blank. The monitor is connected to the main vga socket. There is no signal This is the same with the monitor. When the TV is plugged in to the main vga socket the monitor is blank. I don't know how to re-tune my TV on top of that.

Why did my cat suddenly die?

I am completely devastated. So I went to bed around 4 am the other night and I heard a commotion in the living room. I assumed this was my two cats chasing each other like usual. I got up to see what they were doing and saw my cat Domino frantically trying to open the cupboard under the bathroom sink. He got it open and jumped in there. I crouched down to see him and noticed that he was on his side and he started twitching violently. I was going to pick him up to rush him to the animal hospital but he wouldnt stop shaking so I didnt touch him for a minute. Then his head went back and his paw twitched a few more times then he stopped moving. I started crying hysterically hoping he was not dead but I just knew. Then I noticed his eyes were wide open and he was not blinking. I literally saw the life go out of him and I knew he was dead. I cant understand why this happened. He was only 8 years old and I loved him so much. I didnt even know if he was sick the only thing out of the ordinary was that he got kind of skinny. Why do they give me so little bit hours at my part-time job?

I started working at Domino's a week ago as a customer service representative (taking customer orders). I know that it's a part time job, but I think they should give me at least 4 hours in one day. But instead they give me like 3 or 2 & 1/2 hours each day. I know it's because those are their busiest hours when they need someone to help with the orders, but I think it's ridiculous to have to waste the gas that it takes to get to work just to get paid minimum wage for 2 or 3 hours. I would recommend you ASUS G73SW-A1 laptop has performed well since I got it. I did have a slight problem with the Asus update utility but other than that I absolutely love it. Hi I took a pregnancy test about a month ago that said possitive and had sex with my boyfriend the same night. I woke up spotting and bled a little more for 2 days and spotted for another day. I'm trying to uninstall my symantec antivirus software. It's 'version 9 or later' according to the error message I get, BUT, here's what I did. First, I tried to remove it in the add/remove panel (win xp). When the countdown for removal ended, instead of uninstalling, the time line backed-up, said I couldn't uninstall. Next, I went to norton symantec customer help. Got info. that I sould download the uninstall exe tool to my computer and uninstall it that way. Downloaded it, ran it, got the message 'you have symantec version 9 or later. You must first uninstall via the add/remove panel. Back to the add/remove panel. Same snafu. In other words, the instructions I'm getting on circular. Symantec charges $39.99 for live help. Don't want to pay to UNINSTALL a program. Now, I don't have a password or product key since the symantec came pre-installed. Any suggestions for a work-around? Visited the forum sites; couldn't find anything.

Why do they give me so little bit hours at my part-time job?

I started working at Domino's a week ago as a customer service representative (taking customer orders). I know that it's a part time job, but I think they should give me at least 4 hours in one day. But instead they give me like 3 or 2 & 1/2 hours each day. I know it's because those are their busiest hours when they need someone to help with the orders, but I think it's ridiculous to have to waste the gas that it takes to get to work just to get paid minimum wage for 2 or 3 hours. I got into a car accident in 2008 and my right knee smashed into the front of the car, like the paneling underneath the steering wheel. I wasn't injured at all, no cuts or anything. The EMTs checked my leg at the scene and said it was ok; they asked if I wanted to go the hospital and get it x-rayed or something but I said no. For the past year or so, I've been getting pains on and off in my knee. They can get pretty bad. It doesn't matter if I'm walking or moving it or not. I haven't injured it at all since the accident. It seems almost random. I haven't been to the doctor about it yet. Since it's the same knee, is it possible that this pain is from the car accident, even if it happened such a while ago? Thanks.

1.0TB Hard Drive Drive Letter?

I have a 1.0TB Hard drive as a secondary drive to store videos from my surveillance system. It is stored under drive letter S:\. I go to "Create and format hard drive partitions" under "control panel". Then i go to "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Then "Add". Then change it to drive letter S:\. Everything will go fine until I turn off my computer then when i reboot, the 1.0TB hard drive will not have a drive letter and I have to repeat the process over and over. Both drives are healthy. Both also say active, primary partitions. My C:\ drive also says system, boot, etc. My motherboard and OS (windows 7 32-bit) support the 1.0 TB hard drive. I need to get the hard drive to keep its Drive Letter, even after reboot. I can see the hard drive on "My Computer" and then when it reboots its gone again. I have tried assigning it to different drive letters so that is not the problem. Under the BIOS i was able to set up the drive with no problem and the drive shows up every time whenever i try assigning it to a letter. Any suggestions will help

Why do they give me so little bit hours at my part-time job?

I started working at Domino's a week ago as a customer service representative (taking customer orders). I know that it's a part time job, but I think they should give me at least 4 hours in one day. But instead they give me like 3 or 2 & 1/2 hours each day. I know it's because those are their busiest hours when they need someone to help with the orders, but I think it's ridiculous to have to waste the gas that it takes to get to work just to get paid minimum wage for 2 or 3 hours. Has anyone ever been in a situation like this before? Did they eventually increase your daily hours at Domino's, and if so, how long did they take?

Hi, I am a 43 year old male and have had painful middle back pain for a couple months my doctor ruled anything bone related out. He decided to do a urine and blood test. I got my results back today and they show a high level of protein in my urine culture. My lipid profile showed my total cholesterol at 243, my metabolic panel showed Total Bilirubin 1.4 and my ALT at 69. These were all flagged on the report. Should I be worried? I haven’t had a chance to talk to my doctor yet.

Well i thought it had recovered by itself, but when i tried going to my display settings a pop-up message came up saying tht "The Application Was Not Found". It's doing this for everything in the control panel!! Even the Add or Delete Programs list! The control panel not working anymore??!! Also i try opening my programs on the computer and a dialog box comes up asking which program would you like to open this with?! It even does this when you try to UNinstall the program using it's actual file i would go to it's folder and double uninstall and boom, Which program would you like to open this with? Wat the hell?! Intra-uterine blood transfusion for HDN? Will it hurt the baby?

Ok, so anti-E is a b9lood thing that develops in about 10% of white women after an intial pregnancy (meaning that you won't have it the first time around) but some 80% of men have anti-E. Apparantly, the doctors found the Anti-E in my blood, and did an amniotic panel (drew amniotic fluid from me to test it) and cam to the conclusion that the baby has a high risk factor for HDN (Hemolytic Disease of a newborn) and that it can destroy the baby's red blood cells. They want to give an intra-uterine blood transfusion to my baby, to stop/mend any damage done thus far. He will need another transfusion right after he is born. if it works, he should have few to no complications, if it isn't treated, it could kill him, but intrauterine transfusions are risky and can cause preterm labor. Plus, I think it might hurt him, being stuck with a needle while having his blood pulled out and new blood put in. has anyone had it done?
