Is it okay to ask your boss for a check before you come in?

Okay so I just got a job as a pizza delivery boy at dominoes and I get paid today but I don't go into work till 5:00 and need to pay some bills. Do you think I'm asking for to much or is it normal for people to get checks before they go in it's my first job I'm super scared yo'
